Nation FM loses legendary presenter, Fareed Khimani to Capital FM

Legendary presenter Fareed Khimani has made a grand comeback to Capital FM after leaving Nation FM.

Fareed will be hosting the breakfast show alongside Amina Rabar following Maqbul Mohammed’s exit. Mohammed had worked at the station for 12 years.

Announcing his return, Fareed tweeted, “From ex to next”.

Welcoming Fareed to the Capital FM helm, Amina wrote “Now it’s me and @FareedKhimani every Monday to Friday!!!! Are you loving this duo?”

Fahreed also revealed that working with Amina was in his wish list.

“I always had a list of things to do before my next birthday... Well one of them is to work with this very talented Co-host @aminaabdirabar on @984inthemorning #Breakfast984,” read his tweet.



Fareed’s arrival at Capital has been met with excitement from fans who sent out a number of tweets welcoming him back to the station.

“Fareed Khimani you wandered the world and made it back home! What a way to start your new journey around the sun! Happy Birthday, Fa! Now rock it!” read one tweet.

“Gooood morning @984inthemorning @aminaabdirabar n welcome baaaaack @FareedKhimani it's gonna be ssssmmmmokin” read another

“Best thing about Monday morning is having @FareedKhimani back on @984inthemorning @aminaabdirabar,” wrote fan with another adding “@984inthemorning what a feeling! Welcome back @FareedKhimani even the music has changed.”

Fareed’s return to Capital comes 2 years after he made a comeback to radio on Nation FM. Before leaving for Capital, Khimani hosted the Lit963 show on Nation FM that gave artistes a platform to interact more with fans and share their work.

Speaking on his radio comeback Kimani told the Daily Nation that “I am very excited to be back; radio has always been a passion of mine and I am glad that I am here again doing something that will benefit the society and change the entertainment industry.”
