Vihiga Queens will play Kayole Starlets in the Football Kenya Federation women's Cup semi-final after previous opponents were disqualified for fielding ineligible player.
The decision follows Kayole successful appeal to be granted the right to play in the last four of the inaugural competition after FKF found Gaspo guilty of fielding an ineligible player.
Iddah Adhiambo, who had represented Kibera Girls Soccer Academy in the same competition this year, featured for Gaspo in their 4-2 win.
FKF said in statement that Gaspo had violated Art. 8.9 of the regulations by fielding Adhiambo.
"During the same year, a player is in principle eligible to play for one and the same club in the FKF's women's cup.
"However, a player even though registered on the list of a club and has not been fielded in any match, will be eligible to play for another participating club in the FKF Women's cup in the same year so long as the regulations pertaining to transfers are complied with." said FKF in a statement.
Queens' coach Boniface Nyamunyamu said it doesn't matter who they are facing in semis because their target is to play in the final .
"Gaspo knew very well that the decision to field unsuitable player was bound to be counter productive but still went ahead with it," Nyamunyamu noted.
He said they are ready for any opponent as long as they reach the final.
